As part of the celebration of the #International_English_language Day, on April 23, 2026, the Higher School of Commerce organized an open day this morning entitled: “ENGLISH AT THE CROSSROADS OF CULTURE, DIGITALIZATION, AND THE GLOBAL ECONOMY.”

This event featured a rich and diverse program reflecting the importance of the English language in fostering global openness and enhancing students’ academic and professional skills.

The Director of the Higher School of Commerce Professor Ishak Kherchi welcomed the guests this morning, accompanied by the Vice Director in charge of Information Systems, Communication and External Relations, Professor Annabi Ben Aissa, and the Head of the English Language Teaching Center, Mr. Adel Sakhri. The guests included pedagogical, and administrative staff, and representatives of partner organizations, in a well-organized atmosphere reflecting the school’s commitment to the success of this academic event.

#Algerian_Tourism_Exhibition#Book_Fair, and #Student_Activities

The open day continued with a visit to the Algerian tourism exhibition organized by the National Tourism Office (ONT), displaying the richness and diversity of Algeria’s tourism potential.

A book exhibition featuring newly released English-language titles was also organized to encourage reading and strengthen students’ linguistic and intellectual skills.

The event also included various student-led activities, where members of NEXTGEN Club and Marketing Club delivered interactive presentations and initiatives that reflected creativity, innovation, and teamwork within the school.

This interactive space provided an important platform for exchanging ideas and fostering constructive discussions among students, teachers, and guests on the role of English in academic and economic contexts, as well as its importance in enhancing educational pathways and access to the international job market.

#Official_Launch_of_ENGLISH_DAY_Activities

The Director of the Higher School of Commerce, officially launched the event at the Smart Multifunctional Hall. In his opening speech, he outlined the school’s strategic vision to serve as an environment conducive to knowledge, a promoter of linguistic excellence, and an open space for foreign languages—predominantly English, as the language of science, business, and technology.

He also emphasized the importance of strengthening English language education within the school as a key tool for improving students’ competitiveness and facilitating their integration into the international context.

This was followed by a speech from the Head of the English Language Teaching Center, Mr. Adel Sakhri, who presented the objectives of the event and highlighted the role of English within the school’s academic framework, as well as the ongoing efforts to develop students’ listening, speaking, and academic writing skills.

The session also featured academic presentations by experts and professors specializing in English, addressing teaching methodologies, the integration of English into economic disciplines, and its role in supporting scientific research and professional communication

At the conclusion of the open day, certificates of recognition were awarded to professors, speakers, and participants in appreciation of their valuable contributions to the success of #ENGLISH_DAY and their efforts in promoting English language education within the school.
