Coordination Meeting of the Regional Conference of Central Universities – Center Region

The coordination meeting of the Regional Conference of Central Universities – Center Region was held on Thursday, 27 November 2025, at the auditorium of the Regional Conference headquarters, hosted by Medea University, in the “Arslan” Grand Lecture Hall.

The session was chaired by Prof. Jaafar Bouarouri, President of the Regional Conference of Central Universities, and attended by the rectors of universities from the Central region, in the presence of Prof. Ahmed Mir, Chair of the National Steering Committee for University Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

The discussions focused on a series of strategic academic and governance priorities, including:

  • Evaluation of first-semester progress, with particular attention to the actual teaching load completed;
  • The implementation and operationalization of English-medium instruction, especially within Faculties and Annexes of Medicine (first-year cohorts);
  • The organization and pedagogical supervision of clinical placements for third-year medical students;
  • The progress of the “Study in Algeria” initiative across universities in the Central region;
  • Innovation performance indicators and the execution of allocated funding for Protomarket projects, including issues related to disbursement and monitoring;
  • The functionality of Quality Units and advancements toward ISO-aligned quality assurance frameworks;
  • And other cross-cutting institutional matters.

This coordination meeting forms part of the ongoing efforts to harmonize practices among universities in the Central region, strengthen monitoring mechanisms, and consolidate the ecosystem of innovation and university entrepreneurship, all with the overarching goal of enhancing the quality of higher education and student services.
